Sears Tooth Agreement

1 min read

An arrangement where a solicitor agrees to defer some or all of their fees in a financial remedy case until the conclusion of the case, to be paid out of the settlement, allowing a client to fund legal representation without paying upfront. It is one option a court may expect a party to explore before ordering the other side to fund their legal costs.

In Plain English

A deal where your solicitor lets you delay paying some of their fees until your case settles, so you can afford a lawyer without paying everything upfront.
