Court Procedure

Discharge (of an Order)

1 min read

Bringing an existing court order to an end. The court can discharge an order on application (often using FL403 for protective orders) if the reasons for it no longer apply.

In Plain English

The formal ending of a court order by a judge because it is no longer needed. Once an order is discharged, the rules it previously set out are no longer in effect.
