What People Expect

People carry over cut-off times they have heard about.

Court Reality

PD 5B sets no cut-off for filing: a document is filed when HMCTS software records it. Serving the other party is different. Under FPR r 6.34 an email sent on a business day before 4.30pm is served that day, and anything later is served the next business day.
