What People Expect

A parent may believe that relocating to live close to where their child now lives simply reflects wanting to return to their community or be near their child, with no other significance.

Court Reality

Where there are already findings of controlling behaviour, a court can view such a move, including its timing and precise location, as a continuation of that behaviour rather than as an innocent coincidence, particularly if it follows shortly after a change in the child's living arrangements.
