Children

No Order Principle

1 min read

A principle in the Children Act 1989 stating that a court should not make an order regarding a child unless doing so is better for the child than making no order at all. It remains in place even where other parts of the Act are amended.

In Plain English

The court will only make an order about your child if actually making that order is better for the child than doing nothing.
