Domestic Abuse Protection Notice. A short-term civil notice introduced under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, issued by the police (with senior officer authorisation) in the pilot areas to give immediate protection to a victim of domestic abuse, typically lasting up to 48 hours while a longer-term Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) is sought from the court.
